A Lasting Impact
Warren Dahlin Jr. has taught on a college level for over 40 years. He won the Haggerty Award and was named the "Beeley Lecturer" at the University of Utah. His "Creative Process" class won national designation as one of the three innovation courses in the nation by AUPHA. As a registered Occupational Therapist and a graduate of Boston University, he worked extensively for over 45 years in long term care. He also worked with Holocaust survivors from 1975-1990 and served on a three-year grant working with elder and tribal leaders in 75 Indian Nations throughout the country to help preserve and pass on Native American culture and tradition. He invented and patented a product to painlessly open severely contracted hands of post-stroke patients and served as Director of Research and Development for a national orthotics company for three years. Warren was also instrumental in first identifying Elder Abuse as a clinical and social issue, and the national training he and his colleagues provided promoted 45 states to adopt protective service legislation in only three years. He considers occupational therapy a way of life!
